They were quick, they were discreet, and they absolutely did not want to be seen.
It was 5.30am when the car carrying the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at the Lindo Wing, a time of day when the media presence around the hospital is reduced to some half a dozen agency photographers.
No-one ever expected the couple to use the front entrance to the hospital, which is watched by the media round the clock.
